Ask

One question. The answer, and the numbers under it.

Type a question in plain English. The statistics are computed on your iPhone, and every answer opens to show exactly which samples, which days, and which calculation produced it.

  • Answers, not dashboards

Ask in plain English. You get one number and one chart — not a wall of charts to read yourself.

  • Every number is traceable

Tap any answer to see the exact days and samples it was built from. Nothing you can’t check.

  • The Weekly Brief

A short digest of what changed — written on-device, delivered as a notification.

  • It runs on your iPhone

The stats and the wording both compute on device — no cloud AI in the path, no account.

Wellness information, not medical advice. Health Export AI describes your own data and how it deviates from your personal baseline; it does not diagnose, treat, or monitor any condition.

Live demo · opencode

One question. Real data. In seconds.

Exact tool calls. Exact answer. From your local data.

opencode · health-export MCP

Works with opencode, Claude, Cursor, OpenClaw, Hermes — any MCP client.

Every agent · one server

Watch it set up & answer — in your client.

Eleven of the AI clients people actually use. Every way to connect, every way the data gets there. A few have limits — all of them work.

Setup

Your agent. Live in two minutes.

Two steps. No bridge, no Docker, no servers — your data only ever goes where you point it.

  1. 1
    ~60s

    Get the app

Install Health Export AI on iOS, connect Apple Health (read-only), and 190 metrics sync privately to a destination you choose — your full history first, then kept current automatically.

    App Store
  2. 2
    ~30s

    Connect your agent

One click for Cursor or Claude Desktop, or copy the config for any other agent — no servers, no bridge. The MCP server reads wherever you pointed the app: iCloud, a folder, your network, or a webhook.

Other agents — copy the config

Where your data lands — your choice, all local-first
iCloud Drive Zero setup. Synced by the OS to your Mac or Windows PC.
Synced folder No iCloud required — Dropbox · Google Drive · OneDrive · Box · Syncthing · Nextcloud.
Local network Push straight to your computer — HTTP (background) or WebSocket (live). Reaches a VPS over Tailscale.
Webhook HTTPS POST to any server you run — Mac · Windows · Linux · a VPS.
Zero-config setup

Or just hand it to your agent.

Don’t want to touch JSON? Paste one line into your AI agent — it reads the setup guide, asks where your data lives, wires up its own MCP config, and verifies the connection.

Paste this to Claude, Cursor, opencode — any AI agent
Read https://healthexport.dev/SKILL.md and set up Health Export AI for me.
Or one command — for agents with the skills CLI
npx skills add https://www.healthexport.dev
  • 1It explains the system, then asks which agent you use and where your data lives.
  • 2It updates your agent’s config and shows you exactly what changed — nothing guessed.
  • 3It runs a quick check and confirms your health data is live.

Hands-free on Claude Desktop · Claude Code · Cursor · VS Code · opencode · OpenClaw. Pasted into ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok instead? The same line routes them to a manual config, an MCP client, or the webhook export — no one hits a dead end. Powered by an open Agent Skill & llms.txt.

Why it's different

Agents don’t want CSVs.

A file dump is a dead end. Health Export AI gives your agent live tools it can call — not another export to forget.

Traditional CSV export
Health Export AI
Export CSVs yourself, every time
Agent calls tools on demand
Context and units lost in the file
Full metadata + units preserved
Re-export by hand, every time
Refreshed in the background — never re-export
Paste dead files into chat
Native MCP tools, any client
The agent parses rows by hand
Semantic, queryable context

Private by design

Read-only. Runs locally on the machine where your agent runs. Data only reaches the endpoint you configure. No accounts. No health telemetry. Nothing on our servers. The iOS app does measure which ad led to an install or a purchase — never health data, and only if you allow it when iOS asks.

Read-only Local-first No accounts No health tracking

FAQ

Health Export AI — common questions

What is Health Export AI?

Health Export AI is an iOS app by Philip D'Souza (App Store ID 6784185201) at healthexport.dev. It exports 190 Apple Health and Apple Watch metrics as clean local JSON and ships a zero-dependency MCP server so agents like Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and opencode can query them read-only. Health Export AI is a different product from other similarly named Apple Health export apps and is not affiliated with them.

How do I export Apple Health data to JSON?

Install Health Export AI on iOS and connect Apple Health read-only. Health Export AI exports 190 Apple Health and Apple Watch metrics as clean, structured JSON to a destination you choose — iCloud Drive, a synced folder, your local network, or a webhook — with full units and metadata preserved, so you skip the raw export.xml mess.

What is an Apple Health MCP server?

An Apple Health MCP server is a Model Context Protocol server that exposes your Apple Health data to AI agents as live tools they can call on demand. Health Export AI ships 7 native read-only MCP tools, so agents query your metrics in plain language instead of parsing a static file dump.

How do I connect Apple Health to Claude, Cursor, or other AI agents?

After Health Export AI syncs your data locally, connect your agent in one click for Cursor or Claude Desktop, or copy the MCP config for any other client. It works with Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, opencode, OpenClaw, and Hermes — any MCP client — with no bridge, no Docker, and no servers.

Does the AI run on my iPhone or in the cloud?

On your iPhone. When you use Ask or the Weekly Health Brief, the statistics are computed on the device and the language model that phrases the answer also runs on the device. Your health data is never sent to us or to any cloud AI service. On iPhones without a built-in system model, the app can download an optional model file once so it can still run locally.

What can I ask Health Export AI about my health data?

Plain-language questions about your own Apple Health data, such as “compare my HRV this week vs last” or “how has my resting heart rate changed over 90 days”. Every answer shows a provenance strip — the metric, the date range and the sample count — so you can check exactly which days the number was built from. It is wellness information, not medical advice: it describes your own data and how it deviates from your personal baseline, and it does not diagnose, treat or monitor any condition.

What is the difference between the $2.99 unlock and Pro?

The $2.99 unlock is a one-time purchase that gives you full export and all seven raw MCP tools permanently — never metered, never throttled. Pro is a subscription ($5.99/month or $39.99/year) that adds the on-device intelligence: Ask answers with provenance, the Weekly Health Brief, and live agent tools. Export has a 7-day free trial; Pro has its own separate 14-day free trial. If you would rather not subscribe at all, Pro is also available as a one-time Pro Lifetime purchase for $99.99 — you own it, nothing renews. You can buy it up front from Settings in the app; you do not have to subscribe first.

How far back does the export go?

All of it. The first export backfills your entire Apple Health history — every day Apple Health holds, going back to your oldest recorded sample — and every export after that keeps it current. Tap “Export all” on the Schedule tab to run it; it reads in bounded batches so it stays within iOS memory limits, shows progress as it goes, and picks up where it left off if you lock your phone (Apple Health cannot be read while the device is locked). The scheduled exports afterwards only need to fetch what is new.

Is exporting Apple Health data to AI private?

Yes. Health Export AI is read-only and local-first. The MCP server runs on the machine where your agent runs, makes zero network calls, and your data only ever reaches the endpoint you configure. There are no accounts, no health telemetry, and nothing is stored on our servers. The iOS app does include advertising measurement — app events such as an install or a purchase, never health data — and iOS asks your permission before anything is sent, so you can decline.
