Metrya vs MetricBridge: Recovery Scores vs an Apple Health Data Bridge
Both read Apple Health, both work without an account, and both keep your health data off their own servers. They answer different questions. Metrya tells you how ready you are today. MetricBridge answers what you ask about your data, shows the numbers behind the answer, and hands the data to your own agents.
AI-assisted, human reviewed. How we use AI
Quick answer. Pick Metrya if you want a morning Recovery score, an energy gauge on your Apple Watch, and food, caffeine and strength logging in one app. Pick MetricBridge if you want to ask your own questions and check the numbers behind each answer, export your full Apple Health history as JSON, or let Claude, Cursor or another MCP client read your data. Both are wellness tools, not medical devices.
How we checked. Every Metrya fact below comes from Metrya's own website (metrya.app, all public pages) and its US App Store listing, both read on 27 October 2026. Apps change quickly: check Metrya's listing for current pricing and features. If something here is out of date, tell us at [email protected] and we will fix it.

Where Metrya genuinely wins
- A number at a glance. If you want to look at your wrist and know whether today is a hard day, a Recovery score and a live energy gauge do that. MetricBridge does not score you.
- Apple Watch and Mac apps. Complications on the watch face and a Mac app for the longer view. MetricBridge has neither.
- Logging in one place. Meals, caffeine and set-by-set strength logging sit next to the scores, and its Advisor can relate them to your sleep.
- Bigger AI models if you want them. Bring your own cloud key or run Ollama on a Mac. MetricBridge stays on the phone, which is more private but means smaller models.
- More report types. Eight PDFs to MetricBridge's two.
Where MetricBridge is the better fit
- Your own agents. The open source MCP server lets Claude, Cursor, VS Code, opencode and other clients query your real numbers, read-only, from the machine they run on. That is the job MetricBridge was built for.
- Your whole history, as data. The first export backfills everything Apple Health holds, and scheduled exports keep it current, as JSON you can script against.
- Answers you can check. Every on-device answer shows its provenance: the metric, the date range and the sample count it came from.
- One price, no tiers. One purchase unlocks export, the MCP tools, Ask, reports and the Weekly Brief. There is no subscription to choose or cancel.
- No cloud AI at all. There is no setting that sends a health question to a cloud model, so there is nothing to get wrong.
The same caution applies to both
Both describe your own data against your own history. Neither diagnoses anything, and a pattern in your data is not proof that one thing caused another: a week of better sleep after you cut caffeine may have other reasons. Use either app to notice and ask, and a clinician to decide.
Can you use both?
Yes. Both only read Apple Health (Metrya also writes back what you log in it), so they do not conflict. Run Metrya for the morning scores and MetricBridge for questions, exports and your agents.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Metrya and MetricBridge?
Metrya turns Apple Health data into daily scores (Recovery, an energy Reserve, sleep debt) with an Apple Watch app and an optional AI Advisor. MetricBridge answers plain-language questions about your Apple Health data on your iPhone, shows the numbers behind every answer, exports 194 metrics as JSON and ships an open source MCP server so your own AI agents can read your data.
How much do Metrya and MetricBridge cost?
Checked on 27 October 2026 on the US App Store: Metrya is a free download with in-app purchases of $1.99 weekly, $4.99 monthly, $14.99 yearly or $19.99 lifetime. MetricBridge has a free trial and then a single $24.99 purchase that unlocks everything, with no subscription. Prices change, so check each listing for the current price in your country.
Can my AI agent read my data from Metrya?
Metrya can save a week of data as CSV, JSON or Markdown with Pro, which you could hand to an agent yourself. Its website and App Store listing do not mention an MCP server, as of 27 October 2026. MetricBridge ships an open source MCP server with 16 read-only tools that reads the export on the machine where your agent runs.
Does either app send my health data to a server?
Neither has an account or a server of its own that receives health data. Metrya's optional AI Advisor can use your own cloud API key, and then the provider you choose receives the data for that question after Metrya shows it to you. MetricBridge's AI runs only on the iPhone and its MCP server makes zero network calls.
